CAS Autumn Leaves.....

Hello everyone: Today I'm sharing a card with you I made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and the LiveLoveCards "White Space" challenge, here is my card.
These little leaves are made with THIS Impression Obsession die. I placed the dies onto a panel of Canson water color paper and die cut them, I die cut a couple more to fill the space. Then, I dipped each leaf in a  bowl of water and pat them just a little with a paper towel, but I left them quite wet. I applied ink from my SU markers to each leaf letting the ink run and I just added a bit more ink with the aqua painter as I needed to get the color I wanted.  I used More Mustard, Olive Green, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie.
I stamped the dots with my SU Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and, once the leaves dried, I placed them back onto each of their places, like pieces of a puzzle, here is a close up.
The sentiment is from an old Flourishes set, it's stamped with SU Baked Brown Sugar ink.
One of the things I love about Autumn is that, even if each leaf on the tree is exactly the same when they are green, once they start changing colors, there is not one alike, like snow flakes, each has it's own, unique color pattern, incredibly beautiful.
Here is the sketch that inspired my card.I want to thank you for stopping by, I love reading your comments, they always make my day.
Till next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.

So so pretty ! I love your leaves ! I collect Autumn leaves as they fall and keep them in a wicker basket so I can see them on my bookcase .
I agree there are no two alike ! The Grunge speckles added just the right touch. This is a beauty ! You did a super job of coloring !

Patti, the sentiment is from an old Flourishes set called "Lots of Thought", by the marvelous Marcy Howley, so sad they are not in business anymore.

Pretty, Maria! I love that you used SU markers for this card! I've never done anything cool with my SU markers! I think we both had Autumn in mind for the White Space challenge!

Thank you Caly, I love using SU markers for water coloring, since they are water based, they blend beautifully. This set is so old, I kid you not, it's probably 6 or 7 years old and all the markers are still fine.

I love your coloring of the leaves and appreciate you sharing with us how you did them. This card is beautiful and I love the font of the sentiment too. I'll have to try using my SU markers.

Beautiful card ! I have a question : When you use your marker directly on the wet paper , is that good for the marker ? I always am afraid of ruin it then ?

Maria Rodriguez. said...

Thank you for visiting HJ, the SU markers are fabulous to water color with, I love how they blend so easily on the paper.

Anita, the paper is not dripping wet, it has to be damp or the ink wont show, I always wet the paper and then pat it a little with a paper towel, that way the color is ready to blend with the aqua painter. Sometimes, if I want a bit more shadow, I apply the marker on dry paper and right away, go with the aqua painter to blend. Hope this helps.
