The sweetest Winter Fairy.....

Hello everyone: I know most of us right now are struggling to deal with frigid temperatures, gray skies, tons of snow, etc., after all, it's still officially Winter but, ENOUGH, ALREADY!!! I'm really not enjoying this at all, it might have to do with age, because my grandkids have had a great time playing in the snow, making snow men, tunnels, having snow ball fights, etc. Me.....I rather stamp and make cards, after I come home from my workout, I sit with a hot cup of tea and play with some new stamps from Penny Black that arrived in my frozen mailbox last Tuesday.
This is the card I made using one of this stamps called "Winter Fairy"
I took this first picture in the foyer, when the sun was really shining, I wanted to show the glitter and sparkle of her wings and dress but I forgot to put my little banner with my blog's name and then, some clouds rolled in so, I went into my dinning room and there took the rest of the pictures.  I colored her hat, dress and booties with SU Tempting Turquoise marker, the light blue on her wings was done with SU Bashful Blue, blending with my Aqua Painter.

This next two pictures are close ups, just so you can see the sparkle but also, her sweet rosy cheeks, isn't she just so adorable? For her skin I used this water color shimmer paints, (when you see the page, just scroll all the way to the bottom.)

I took this last picture putting my little banner next to the card, I still need to know how I can add a water mark to my camera, sheeesh!! I'm so behind learning all of this techy stuff.

This is a big stamp so I had a pickle of a time trying to find a layout for it. I stamped it with Stazon jet black ink on Canson water color paper, the DSP is from SU, I found it on my stash, I liked it because the blue in it matches perfectly the blue on her wings. The Snow Flakes just add a bit of embellishment, I think they fit this image really nice.
So there you have it, this pretty little Fairy is the only one who could really enjoy this weather, I enjoyed coloring her, I hope you like her too.
Stay warm.
Maria.

Retro Rubber Challenge #8.....

Hello everyone: Well, today I made a card using an embellishment I haven't used in a long, long time.....EYELETS. I actually had to go dig deep into my "kind of forgotten" box of bling and other things, to find them, I knew I had some but the question was "Where??!!!"
So, why did I needed Eyelets? well, because I wanted to enter the Retro Rubber Challenge, which offers a fun way to dig out our long forgotten stamp sets, tools, embellishments, etc. and play along.
I made a card using a retired SU set called "Morning Cup", which has a bunch of super cute little cups and saucers, a tea pot and a coffee pot, plus some really awesome sentiments. I used Stazon Jet Black Ink on Canson water color paper.
Here is the card I made:
I don't know about you but for me, the combination of purples and green is really beautiful. I used my Perfect Plum SU marker  to color this images, the little flowers on the cup have a bit of Tangerine Tango an the tea bag is colored with River Rock.

Here is a little close up, I don't know if the lighting is ok, I really don't have any special lamps except one that I use when I'm coloring and it's dark outside. I stamped the little tea bag, snipped it and added a bit of thread then, pop it up with SU dimensionals.

Can you see this little hearts? well, they are punched out with a super old, totally retired SU corner punch. The outline is pretty but I love this little hearts that are leftover after you punch your corners. I just can't throw them out, they are perfect in every way, what do you think?
Anyway my friends, I hope you like this card, I hope I'm able to link it up to the challenge, it's a bit difficult for this "old" grammy to understand all of this technical stuff.
Ok, I hope you have a wonderful week, till next time, many hugs.
Maria.
