Chinese Lanterns.....

Hello everyone: Last Friday Fab Friday shared a great sketch for us to play with and Power Poppy is having a challenge called Happy Mail the entire month of June, if you don't have any Power Poppy by Marcella Howley's stamp sets, you can still participate to have a chance to win one of her amazing sets. Here is my card.

I don't know about you guys but I've never seen a Chinese Lantern plant in person, ever!! I Googled it just to see how they look in real life, they are so beautiful and the image on  Marcella Howley's  Happy Harvest stamp set from Power Poppy is just as beautiful as the real plant.
I stamped this image onto a piece of Strathmore 90lb. water color paper with Versafine Onix Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder then, colored it with SU markers and the aqua painter.

I love how the branch of bittersweet berries intertwine with the lovely husks of the Chinese Lantern.
The pattern paper is from a discontinued line from Lili of the Valley, the ribbon from my stash, I don't seem to make a dent in it, sheeesh!!
Here is a picture of the finish inside of my card.

The sentiment is from a retired SU set called "Perfectly Penned" and it's stamped with Tangelo Twist ink from SU.
Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

And the Power Poppy banner.

Thank you for stopping by, until next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.

Beautiful! Just Beautiful! Now, next time you're at the grocery store, especially in the Fall, look at the floral section, they're there all the time! I know you've overlooked them Maria, they're quite a precious plant, so delicate they're a must see! Pinning!

I've never see this plants at the store but then again, I really never stop at the floral section but now I will, I wish I could buy the actual plant I would LOVE to have one and I think I know the exact spot.
Thank you my friend.

So beautiful! It reminds me of the bittersweet we used to go out and cut every fall - such striking vines! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

Really - you've never seen them in real life!! Then you have coloured it so perfectly! I have some in the garden, and have also successfully grown them from seed in the past. But - be aware that if you do manage to get one, at least in our climate they are VERY, VERY invasive.
Also, when they die and become skeletons, they are equally beautiful and make gorgeous home decor both ways.

Hello Sabrina: Nop, I've never seen this plants in real life, I had to Google them to see how they look like. I haven't seen them in garden centers either around here, possibly because, as you pointed out, they can be very invasive. I will look for them at flower stores in the Fall, they look so beautiful when dry.
Thank you for stopping by and for your suggestions.
