Here is my card.
Ok, this card is a humble CASE of THIS ONE by the amazingly talented Marika Rahtu, her style of coloring with Copic markers and coloring pencils is simply incredible, I've learned a lot by watching her create her cards and this one is no exception.
I stamped my flowers with Stazon Dove Gray ink because I wanted to keep it soft, but first, I created a little mask of this single flower so I could stamp the flowers and then, I colored them with SU markers and my Prismacolor pencils, softening the lines a little with a paper stump lightly dipped in baby oil, then I fussy cut them and placed them on the panel using foam dimensionals.
I didn't have the embossed card stock she used and my wood grain embossing folder was not giving me the look I wanted so, I decided to heat emboss that panel with the SU Hardwood stamp.
I don't know if you can see the lines, I was having a bit of a hard time taking this photos. I remember seeing a video on Pinterest about creating a little box with white walls for your pictures so, I grabbed some sheets of white cardstock and took this other picture, I think here you can see the embossed panel better.
The only problem with this picture is that I forgot to put my little piece of paper with my blog's name. I need to learn how to create a water mark for my blog pictures!!
But anyway, I'm learning as I go and this is something that absolutely needs to be DONE!!!!!
Here is a picture of the finished inside of my card.
I'm linking this card to the following challenges.
"Less is More" "What's Outside Your Window" challenge.

The Card Concept "Naturally Pink" challenge.

The Addicted to Stamps and More challenge #186 "Anything Goes"

The Sisterhood of Crafters photo inspiration challenge.

The Stamping Sensations "Flower Power" challenge.

Thank you for stopping by, until next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.
Lovely card !!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, Sid.
DeleteThis looks gorgeous and I'm super impressed at your colouring! And the fussy cutting - I honestly thought you'd got a peonies die I hadn't seen because it's so neat! Fab LIM entry!
ReplyDeleteThank you Esther, it was a bit difficult to fussy cut this flowers, water color paper is not your friend when you want to use scissors.
DeleteThere is a die companion set but I don't have it, I think I might get it, just to make it easier to cut this beautiful flowers.
BEAUTIFUL creation ... I just love your design! Great job! Thanks so much for joining us at The Sisterhood’s ‘PHOTO INSPIRATION’ challenge and please come back again soon!

DeleteBeautiful ! Love those sweet flowers going down the edge of the card ! So clever ...as always .
ReplyDeleteSave this one for me ! Love it !!
Thanks my friend, my SU markers did great with this flowers and I love the design on Marika's card.
DeleteOh, and this card has your name on it already.
Oh Maria, you've done it again. Exquisite! I am stalking you although I don't always comment, but today I had to. I love the colors, and the embossed area is perfect for the texture. The products you used to color intrigues me. I must get some of that baby oil and try that. I have not combined markers with anything, and I do have pencils, so I must try that as well. I also thought you had a die for those beautiful peonies. One of my favorite flowers. OK, so now I need to go check out this stamp on that website. Thanks for making me spend more money. LOL (like you twisted my arm, right?) Hugs...
ReplyDeleteThank you Bobbi, so glad you stopped by today. This pencil/paper stumps/baby oil technique is super easy, you can find lots of videos on Utube that are easy to follow. Hope you try it soon and also hope you come back and visit again.
DeleteOh, and there is a die for this stamp set, I'm sure you'll find it.
Such a soft and delicate card Maria. Your fussy cutting is spot on.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa, snipping this flowers was not to bad but I would really love to have those dies.
DeleteBeautiful coloring on those blooms! Thanks so much for joining us at The Card Concept!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, LauraJane.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow ! Maria, your card is such a treat to the eyes. Beautiful coloring . You have used that stamp set amazingly well. :) Thanks so much for stopping by my Sizzix blog post and leaving a lovely comment. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd about watermarking your pictures, I simply started it off in Microsoft paint program on my lappy. It's the simplest. Or else, you can download a software called photoscape on your computer. It's good for editing pictures and adding watermarks. Hope that helps. :)
DeleteOh Jasleen, thank you so much, first for stopping by to see my card and also, for your fabulous help. This technology overwhelms me at times, I'm almost 65 y/o and perhaps this is the reason all of this stuff is so foreign to me.
DeleteI will definitely try your suggestion, thank you so much for helping me. I hope to see you visiting often.
Beautiful! Perfect CASE of Marika's card! You have amazing coloring skills, Maria!
ReplyDeleteThank you TaeEun, I'm so glad you stopped by. Watching Marika do her coloring is always so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteMaria such a beautiful card, we obviously like a lot of the same stamps. Mine arrived yesterday. I love how you have done this. Been too sick to open mine yet but will get there. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteOh Aileen, I'm so sorry you are not feeling well, I hope you'll recover quickly so you can enjoy this beautiful stamp set.
DeleteThank you for stopping by, it was fabulous to create this card, the images are gorgeous and a joy to color.
Maria, this is beautiful! Your colouring is amazing and loved that you used baby oil for blending as well. I've not used it, I've meant to. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMarika, it was you who inspired me to create this card, I watched your video several times while waiting for this set to arrive.
DeleteYou can use Gamsol to blend the color, I use baby oil because I don't have that other product and I saw a video where the lady said you can use it as well. It's easy and the colors blend beautifully.
Thank you for stopping by.
Hi Maria, feleing better and thought I should just say how much I love your CASe of this card. Never call it humble babe cause it is brilliant, soft, beautifully coloured and put together.
ReplyDeleteHello Aileen and so happy you are feeling better, thank you for this comment, I truly like the way it came out, you are just so kind.
DeleteWhoa! For a moment I thought Marika was a Guest Stamper on your blog but I see it's a Case and I don't blame you for studying her beautiful artwork! Funny I got the same "back in stock" email from Altenew but when I went to purchase it, they were all gone. Quick Draw McGraw in Indiana got to it before me! Enjoy and this is just beyond stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank youPatti, I'm not there yet, although if you still had your blog.....
DeleteI hope you get to buy this set, it's gorgeous and you can just stamp this flowers adding so much dimension and texture with either markers or pencils. I'm telling you my friend, the morning I received this message, I immediately bought the set, I didn't want to miss out again.
Lovely floral. With Picasa, you can add a text watermark as you are cropping or brightening your card. Very easy photo software.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary for, both your comment and the advise about this watermark business. I hope I can understand how it's done quickly.
