Life's a Beach!!!!!

Hello everyone: I have a fun card to share with you today and, if you live up North of the USA, you probably still "enjoying" Winter, even with mild than normal temperatures, this is NO beach weather so, with this in mind, I made this card.  I will link it to a few challenges at the end of this post.

Now, wouldn't you like to be on a beach right about now?
This fun image is from an Art Impressions set called Beach Babes, I just adore this super sweet and fabulous ladies.
The image is stamped onto a die cut piece of Strathmore mixed media paper with Stazon balck ink and colored with SU markers and an aqua painter.
I cut a couple of pieces of Stampin' Up! pattern paper from my stash for the sides, the softer blue paper is from a discontinued line from Lili of the Valley, the 3 shells are from a retired Flourishes set called "Seaside Life" and were stamped with Stazon black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils.
The little sun is from the set and was fussy cut.

It's Mardi Grass!!!!!

Hello everyone: It's a brand new challenge over at SHOPPING OUR STASH and the theme is MARDI GRASS.  I've never been to one of this fabulous celebrations but I've been to New Orleans a couple of times with my hubby and let me tell you, Bourbon Street needs no parades to celebrate every night and, oh boy, did we ever!!  I'll skip all the.....blushing details 😘to share with you the card I made and I hope it inspire you to join us in the gallery.

This fun and fabulous images are from a Verve Stamps set called Masquerade and, just so you know, there are companion dies for the masks and the dress.
I chose really vivid colors to create this card, I stamped the dress with Versafine black ink several times onto a piece of lime green card stock and then, clear heat emboss it and fussy cut, the mask was stamped onto a piece of neon pink card stock with Picked Raspberries distress ink which I also used for the feathers, stamping them twice and then, fussy cut, I die cut the mask, I wish there was a die for the feathers too.
I added a "few" Rhine Stones for even more bling. Now, the bow on the dress was to cover a smudge I accidentally made with my inky fingers, I was 😡because I was done with this panel and I didn't want to start over so, I went into my stash of left over ribbons and I found this perfect piece that had a bit of lime green on it.....Wham!! perfect match and a saved card.
I hope you can see the stickles on the feathers and the Wink of Stella on the mask.

I die cut a little panel for my sentiment, with the Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles, I placed a piece of neon green card stock behind it just for fun. The sentiment, little feather and colorful horn are from a set by Power Poppy called "Marcella's Mixed Tape 2"

Ok, are you inspired now to create some fun Mardi Grass, Fat Tuesday, Carnival cards? Think masks, feathers, parades, parties, dancing, drinking and having a good old time.

Birds of a Feather.....

Hello everyone: I have a cute card I finally finished, this image from House Mouse has been in my stash of "unfinished" for a while now and today, I found a few challenges that fit just right.

Ok, most people who know me, know that I love mice, specially the House Mouse siblings, (the real mice are adorable too but, only in their natural habitat, right?)
Anyway, this is a House Mouse stamp called "Feathered Friends".  I stamped this image onto a panel of Strathmore mixed media paper with Stazon black ink and colored it with SU markers and an aqua painter. I added a few highlights with Prismacolor pencils.
The sentiment is from my stash of greetings and the feathers from a Power Poppy set called "Marcella's Mix Tape Vol. 1"
Ribbon is from SU but it's retired.

Sweet Dreams.....

Hello everyone: Do you believe in Fairies? I do and because of that, I enjoy coloring images of this ethereal little creatures that live among flowers or deep in forests, that are attracted to mirrors, pencils, honey, silver and gold foil paper and also, glass beads.
Some years ago my aunt found a box with about 25 plain rubber stamps at a thrift store, she bought them on the spot because she knows how much I love Fairies. This stamps were dirty and dusty, some looked like they have been used and were all stained. After I washed them and started stamping the images to see how they looked like, I was astonished at the beauty of this images.  Unfortunately there was no name of any company that made them in that dirty box but, just about 2 years ago, I found out that they were from a company called Sweet Pea Stamps. They are no longer in business so I feel real fortunate to own this lovely images.  Here is a card made with one of them, that I will link to a few challenges at the end of this post.

I stamped the image onto a panel of Strathmore mixed media paper and water colored it with SU markers and an aqua painter, I added a bit of detail with my Prismacolor pencils.
The twigs in the background were stamped using a stamps with corals, I just masked the Fairy and mouse. I didn't want to add a sentiment, I really didn't want to clutter this image so I just die cut the word "Dream" from a left over piece after I cut the panel.
I added a bit of ribbon and some paper punched with a lace punch.

Here is a picture of the finished inside of my card.

The sentiment is one of my absolute favorites, it's from an old retired set from Flourishes called "Orchids", the little mushrooms on the bottom are die cut with a border die from C. C. Designs but unfortunately, it's discontinued.
