A Beautiful Day.....

Hello everyone: I hope all of you are enjoying Spring in all its glory, up here it's been a bit chilly for April-May, we even had some flurries the other day, sheesh!!
My teammates and I have a fun theme for you to play with over at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE and we hope you come and join us in our gallery, we want to see some embossing, whether heat or dry or both.

This beautiful flower is from the Altenew set called Peony Bouquet, I love these types of stamps that allow you to add shading and detail to the images.  First I embossed the white card stock with a retired SU embossing folder then, using the MISTI I stamped the outline of the flower with gray ink and leaving the stamp on the MISTI, I removed the panel to another section of the stamp positioner and proceeded to add the layers of color, the little bud and the leaves using a mask for the flower, when I was happy with how it looked, I placed the panel on the MISTI again and inked up the stamp with Versamark ink to stamp the outline on the flower again, then I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder, I sure hope you guys can see that.
The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Tea in the Garden and the little Butterfly from another Power Poppy set called Pure Prairie Spirit.
I added a few enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs.
We have a sponsor this time around and it's ALTENEW so that means, there is a prize for our winner so, we all hope you will come and play along.

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The border is punched with a retired SU punch, I forget it's name, I used two sentiments from a Power Poppy set called Daffodils and the leaf from the Peony set.

I hope you go to THE FLOWER CHALLENGE blog to get more inspiration from my awesome teammates' beautiful cards.
Please remember to include the challenge banner on your post when you upload your creation to the gallery and to limit your challenge participation to other challenges to 6, including ours.

Thank you for stopping by, your comments always make my day.

Amanita Flavoconia.....

Hello everyone: So here I am with another Mushroom card from the fabulous Power Poppy set called Wild Mushrooms.  I've been learning a lot about these wild varieties of mushrooms that I really have never seen in person.
So here's my card featuring this beautiful and fiery looking one and, if you'd like, you can check the other ones I've made with this beautiful set HERE and HERE.

Here's a couple of pictures of the real thing.

How beautiful are these??!!! but, unfortunately, they are NOT EDIBLE, ok?
They are just awesome to look at.

I stamped these beauties on watercolor paper with Versafine black ink and clear heat embossed it then, I colored it with SU Markers and Prismacolor pencils.
All the pattern papers are from my stash, I can't seem to make any significant dent on them at all, I think I have enough to last me for years.
The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Sunny Harvest, I added a little enamel dot from Gina Marie Designs.

The border is done with a retired SU set called "Bordering Blooms", the sentiment and the little mushroom are from the Power Poppy set.

I want to play along with the following challenges.

Turquoise.....

Hello everyone: I have a CAS card to share today, it was quite easy to finish and I'm really loving the "golden" effect I get when I clear heat emboss my images using Antique Linen Distress Ink.

This image is from an Altenew set called Golden Garden
I must apologize for the darkness on this picture, our skies are again very overcast and my flash was not cooperating😒
I stamped the flower and the butterfly (from SU Serene Garden) on watercolor paper with Antique Linen distress ink and clear heat embossed it and like I said, this gives the ink a golden tone, soft and really pretty.
Then I colored the images with Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagon distress inks, I gave them a bit of detail with Prismacolor pencils.
The leaves were colored with Peeled Paint and shaded with Prismacolors.
The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips.

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Potted Primroses, the border from SU "Delicate Details" and the little bud from the Altenew set.

Morchella Vulgaris.....

Hello everyone: Well, this is a very late post for me, I usually post in the mornings but today one thing came after another at home, you know how it is sometimes, right?
But anywho, here's another Mushroom card that I hope you'll like, this particular variety is called Morel or Morchella Vulgaris from the Power Poppy set called Wild Mushrooms

This is a picture of the real thing.

These are so beautiful, don't you think?
I stamped my Morels on a piece of watercolor paper with Baked Brown Sugar ink from SU (retired ink pad but still works ok.) and colored it with Derwent watercolor pencils, a little bit of a SU "River Rock" marker and Prismacolors for adding shadows and detail.
The set has the coordinating dies but I don't have it so I just fussy cut the image.
I added some pattern paper from my stash and embossed the dark brown card stock with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, hope you can see the detail on this beautiful image of a tree trunk.
The sentiment is from another Power Poppy set called Short Stacks.

The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Everything's Even Rosier and leaves are from another Power Poppy set called Feeling Fall.

Amethyst Deceiver.....

Hello, dear blogging friends: Well, this is the 4th. day of Spring Showers up here in the MidWest and, although I know they bring May Flowers, I wish they would stop for a bit to allow the ground to soak up all that water.
Anyway, here's a card I made with a really awesome Power Poppy stamp set called Wild Mushrooms.  I Google'd the name of this particular variety and they exist in all shades of PURPLE, which happens to be my favorite color.
Here's my card.

And here's a picture of the actual mushroom which Botanical name is "Laccaria Amethystine" or Amethyst Deceiver.

Laccaria amethystina - Amethyst Deceiver

How amazing are these?
My little mushrooms were stamped on a piece of watercolor paper with Shaded Lilac distress ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used all 3 shades of Purple plus the Violet-Blue pencil, I see a hint of this color on this beauties.
The papers are from my stash, the sentiment from the set.

An OLC for LIM.....

Hello everyone: I'm sharing another card created with a very beautiful Stampin' Up! set called "Serene Garden", which I've only used once to make a quick card for a friend of my youngest daughter who had lost her dad. I didn't even take a picture, had no time at all so, I'm here with this card which is a CAS One Layer Card that I will enter in a few challenges at the end of the post.

I stamped the largest image on a folded watercolor card base with Antique Linen distress ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
(By the way, when I scored the 11"x4.5" paper, I folded it the wrong way and that's why it looks a bit frayed on the fold 😪)
After heat embossing the image I colored it with Altenew ink pads in "Evergreen" and "Forest Glades" and a small brush, these super old ink pads are still working great.
The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Dynamic Duos: Foxglove and Ranunculus.

This is the way the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The border is stamped with a retired SU set called "Bordering Blooms", the sentiment from the Power Poppy set.
