Christmas Teddy and Train.....

Hello everybody: In a continuous effort to have a good stash of Christmas cards for the Holidays, I made this one using a super sweet, retired set from Stampin' Up!, images like this are timeless.

I like to combine stamp sets, both old and new, to achieve a certain look on my cards, I have a good stash of vintage, beautiful and retired sets from all over the place, here I combined two old and one new to create this card.
The sweet, fluffy Teddy and the adorable little Train are from a retired Stampin' Up! set called "Teddy and Train", this set is perfect for baby cards but, like in this case, also for a cute Christmas card.  The pile of beautifully wrapped gifts the Teddy is leaning on is from a retired Flourishes set called "All Wrapped Up!".  The sentiment here is from a new Power Poppy set called Wreaths Plain and Fancy.  I die cut the oval from Spellbinders Decorative Elements Floral Ovals.

The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Poinsettia, the little gift from Merry Littles.

Muse Farewell to Jenni.....

Hello everyone : Jenni Murray from the MUSE CHALLENGE is having a goodbye post as she is leaving the DT.  Her card is simple and, at the same time, a bit tricky to make, I wanted to give it a try and, after a couple of fail attempts and thanks to my MISTI, I was able to create this card, that looks a lot like hers. Here is my card and Jenni's.

I went to look for sets that had "Thank You" sentiments in them,  I tried to find the ones that would fit the 3"x3" center panel and, after a short while, I found two, both sets are old and retired from Flourishes, I used one called "Picking Wild Flowers" for the center sentiment and another one called "With Gratitude" for all the sentiments around it. This stamp is a long one with the word "Thank You" in English, Spanish, French and German, with really beautiful fonts.

Here is a picture of the finished inside of my card.

The sentiment and Humming Bird are from an retired Flourishes set called "Humming Along", the little flower is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called "Happiness Shared".

I'm linking this card to the following challenges:

It's Sooooo PINK!!!!!

Hello everyone: The new challenge over at SHOPPING OUR STASH is all about the color PINK so, here is my inspiration card, I don't think I've ever made a card this pink before, except for some invitations.....I'll explain, hope you like it.

I don't usually buy this very pink card stock but I had some in my pink stash that was left over from some Birthday Invitation cards I made for one of my youngest daughter's sister in law's granddaughter, (sheeesh!! that's a mouthful, eh?) she was going to turn 9, if I remember correctly. This little girl LOVES PINK and all things girly, so I went and bought a few pieces of this very bright pink card stock and made 30 invitations, very cute, if I say so myself. I had some left over pieces which came in really handy for this card.
The images are from an Altenew set called Persian Motifs.  I stamped this images onto Vellum with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with WOW pearlescent embossing powder and colored them with Prismacolor pencils then, fussy cut them and adhered them with glue dots to the panel, the Butterflies are from SU retired set Papillon Potpourri, stamped and colored in the same way.
The word "Hope" is die cut with an Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Here is a picture of the finished inside of my card.

The sentiment is from an old Flourishes set called "Magnolias", the butterfly is from an unknown set I had for years and years.
So, are you in a PINK MODE now? I hope so, my teammates and I can't wait to see what you create, there are tons of occasions that will fit this challenge beautifully.
For more inspiration, hop over the SHOPPING OUR STASH blog and check out the rest of the Design Team's creations, you will be happy you did.

Chinese Lanterns for RR#65.....

Hello dear friends: This week over at RETRO RUBBER, we have a very cool sketch challenge for you to play with, I think there are a lot of ways to interpret it so, go grab your OLDER THAN ONE YEAR stamp sets (we would love it if you can tell us the age of your stamp or how long you've had it๐Ÿ˜,ok?) This challenge is dedicated to older stamp sets, those that we have neglected for a while, they need to be inked up and share and this is the perfect place to do it. Here is my inspiration card, made with a 2013 Flourishes stamp set called "Pinwheels and Popsicles".

I love all the images on this old set, they are fun, festive and lend themselves to be brightly colored like I did right here.
I stamped just the line where the lanterns are hanging with an old ink pad, just so I can see it and I could go over it with a gold gel pen,  and the tassels with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder, onto a panel of Stampin' Up! Whisper White card stock and then, I stamped the lanterns again onto some water color paper with Stazon black ink because I wanted to water color the lanterns and fussy cut them for added dimension.
To follow our sketch, I cut very thin strips of card stock in the same colors as my lanterns and glue them under the image, I stamped the sentiment from the same set and added 4 Rhine Stones, also in the colors of the lanterns.
Here's the RETRO RUBBER SKETCH for you to play with.
