Hello again everyone: I hope your Holidays were wonderful, with family and friends to make them even more special.
Well, here I am again posting a new card I made a couple of days ago. This card is from a fabulous Power Poppy stamp set called "Fresh Baked", this wonderful image is created by Marcella Howlley, one of the most amazing artists and designers around. I love pies and this one certainly looks good enough to eat. The card is simple, I didn't add a bow or ribbon or any kind of bling, I think this image stands perfectly fine on it's own.
The card stock is from Hobby Lobby, where I buy most of it, the DSP is from the Paper Studio, I colored this image using my Stampin Up! markers and my Aqua Painter. The colors I used are:
Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, More Mustard, Bashful Blue and Basic Gray. I also added a bit of Crystal Effects to the cherry in the pie to make it shine a bit, after all, that is how it looks when it comes out of the oven.
I'm still getting used to this blog and using my brand new camera, this is a work in progress so I hope you enjoy visiting.
I also resumed my Triathlete life, this is something I need to release the stress of caring for my 91 year old mom. But most of all, it's because I miss training and racing so much.
I'm entertaining a little dream in my head, but before I let you guys know about it, I need to put all the pieces in place, I will know soon if I'm going to be able to take it to the next level.
So, I hope you like this card, feel free to suggest anything to improve it, from the DSP to the coloring, layout (which I struggle with all the time), etc.
Thank you for visiting and please, don't forget to feed my fishies.
Many hugs.
Maria.

Hi Maria!
I can not imagine anyone wanted to offer you and ideas to improve your watercoloring!
What kind of paper did you stamp your focal image on? How did you use your SU! markers? Did you scribble a swatch on a nonporous surface and pick it up with your aquapainter? Or, did you actually color your marker on the paper itself and then use your aquapainter to blend it out? You know that I have always been a fan of your projects feel like I can learn a lot from a pro.
I too struggle with layouts! I was just telling my husband that I feel really confident in the results of my focal pieces, whether they are a die cut piece, a stamped and colored piece, or even if it is using peel-off stickers BUT when it comes to the layout, I really stink and spend a ton of time (mostly wasted) working on the color scheme and lay-out. Debating between 1000 pieces of patterned paper or whatever. It honestly does not look like you struggle at all!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations with the world and good luck on your new adventure!
Blessing and Happy New Year,
Valerie
So tickled to here your back training. You need to take care of yourself too... remember that. Hope your Momis doing good. Gorgeous card and don't change your coloring technique!!! Hugs
Wow mom! Love all the colors you used. Very bright! I'm also so glad you started up with your workouts again and taking care of you. We love you lots and thanks for all you do for us!
Such a sweet layout Maria and FABULOUS coloring!!! Good luck on your training -- that is far more intense than my body could handle so I admire those athletes that can do it! Good luck and keep creating beautiful things!
Thank you sweet stamping friends and daughter, I'm truly enjoying this blog, it's still a work in progress, I have lots to learn about it.
