Lily of the Valley.....

Hello again, dear friends: I've been absent for a while, lots of things going on up here but mainly, I felt a bit out of my MOJO, has this happened to you at all?
But now I'm here again to share with you this card I made using a new stamp called "The Potting Shed" from Lily of the Valley.  They have the cutest images and this one is no exception.
As usual, I stamped it on Canson water color paper using Stazon Ink and colored with my SU markers, Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Garden Green, Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip and my ever present Aqua Painter.

This image was so much fun to color and I really didn't want to add a lot of  extra bling or details to it so, I went to look for a pretty patterned paper and found this one from My Paper Studio that I thought would really compliment the image without looking to busy, I think this paper looks just right, what do you think?
Here is a little close up of this little mice, hard at work.

I added a little Wink of Stella to the little puddle and the water coming out of the watering can, I hope you can see it.  The sentiment is from a retired Flourishes stamp set called "From the Garden".
Now, for a little update about my training.....I've been going to the YMCA in Valparaiso, IN. 5 days a week the entire month of January trying to start getting my body used to the idea that I will be putting it through some hard work the next few months until the race in August.  The distances on this Triathlon are not long, but I still need to get ready.  As in my past races, I take the training very seriously, I eat good and rest plenty, after all, I'm no Spring Chicken, LOL!! But I love it so, all the hard work is totally worth it.  Next month I will be increasing the distances on all 3 sports. I will be swimming 1,200 yds and running 3.5 miles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I will bike 15 miles on the stationary bikes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, on Saturdays I might rest or do some weight lifting at home, Sundays I will just chill out.
So this is all for today. I hope you like the card, please leave me a comment, I just love, LOVE reading your words.
Till next time, my friends.
Maria.

Oh Maria, I just love everything about this card...the stamp picture, the bow, the doily and the patterned paper. After XMAS I lost my mojo for a bit. Perhaps the holiday washes us out a bit with the stress of getting all those XMAS cards out in time. So nice to see your new creation...so pretty. I really need to try that Aqua painter and the SU markers next.

Hi Maria! Did you use the markers directly on the paper before blending with an aqua painter? Or, did you grab color with your aqua painter from a craft sheet or block? The coloring is great! Congrats on sticking with your workouts in January!

Hello Maria, this stamp is perfect to colour colour colour - and and that is the greatest about crafting ! I love every detail and if I could, I would case it , but I'm not that good :). The details - I can look and look and find more ... The patterend paper is just right : Very pretty, perfect colours to match but it doesn't take the attention from the mice . Great artwork ! Love it ! Hope you are not too tired after training to make more for us to see ;). Hugs, Anita

Hello Darlene: The images on this stamp are very small so I just wet the paper a little bit with the brush before adding the color. I just drew a line with the marker on the places I wanted to create a bit of a shadow and then, blend it with the aqua painter. For the pots, I just kept adding more color with the marker and blending until I got the way I wanted it.
Thank you so much for your words.

Maria, this is just darling! I love this card and all the coloring! So cute! I can tell I'm going to have to hunt down this stamp company and that paper! Don't you just love the Wink of Stella pen? SU should sell that too! Beautiful post today! Hugs! And congrats on all your hard work for your marathon.
