Hello everyone: From the moment I laid eyes on The Wilderness Awaits in the new SU catalog, I wanted it immediately. All of the four images are stunningly detailed and gorgeous. I have a hard time making masculine cards so, when I saw this set, it screamed MASCULINE to me loud and clear.
The Pals Paper Arts sketch for this week is ideal to showcase the beautiful Fox, that looks up at you with a sweet, trusting expression that really is endearing. So, here is the card I made with this image
This card is destined for one of my dear Triathlon friends who is recovering from knee surgery, he loves the outdoors so I thought this image would definitely cheer him up. As you can see, there is very little bling on this design, I really don't think it needs any, all I added was 4 little copper eyelets with my Crop-a-dile. I was fiddling with some ribbon to tie the leaf (made with the lovely but retired SU "Gently Falling" stamp set) and the sentiment, stamped with the Teeny Tiny Wishes in Rich Razzlelberry and punched out with SU Word Window Punch, love how all of the sentiments in this set fit perfectly in that punch. The leaf was inked with Versamark ink and stamped on water color paper, then I heat embossed it with Silver Pearl embossing powder. I colored it with SU markers in Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie.
I'm sorry that the picture doesn't show the shimmer of this embossing powder, it looks really beautiful in person. After trying several ribbons I decided to go with this very old twine to tie my bow, I think it looks just right.
So, there you have it, my little foxy all curled up and ready for a nap in a field of pretty Summer flowers, what do you think? Please let me know, ok? and if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them.
Till next time, hugs.
Maria.

Ah this fix is so magnificent! Rich Razzleberry & wood grain perfect for this card! Your friend will more than appreciate your note!
Love this fox ! I think your friend will enjoy receiving this card because you have put such personal attention to the details . Everything on it is so special. Lucky me ....I have this adorable fox on a card you did for me by request ! My fox is in more Autumn hues and so pretty .
Thanks my friend, even with the little wild flowers, this card is very masculine, I know he will like it.
I remember that card I sent you, this time I changed it a bit, but the image remains beautiful, my friend will love it. He is all bummed out and forced to stay indoors, he runs Marathons so, I can only imagine how hard it is for his wife to keep him inside the house until he can run again.
The fox looks so real, it's magic ! Very wonderful and wishes of a speedy recovery to your friend ! Hugs, Anita
The woodgrain tucked behind is a WOW! Hugs, M
Thank you Anita, all of the images on this set are simply gorgeous. Thank you for your wishes for my friend, he is suffering more from not being able to run than from the actual surgery, sheeesh!!
Thank you Mary, I was debating on what color to use for the background panel but those little flowers I stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink helped me decide.
Beautifully colored and beautifully detailed! So glad you shared it at PPA!
This is the sweetest little fox, Maria! What an awesome choice of colors!
I honestly wish I could see this card in person, Maria! Your details are exquisite, even considering a masculine persona. Coloration on the fox in quite inspiring and even the added details complement the fox demeanor. I adore the "two banners" on the side! Not too much, not too little. Great card for your friend.
Thank you Linda, this set is just so beautiful and a joy to color.
This is indeed a sweet image Bonnie, this little Fox's face just makes you want to hug her.
Thank you for visiting.
Katy, thank you for stopping by. I have a hard time making masculine cards so The Wilderness Awaits is the most perfect stamp set for this types of cards, all of the images are gorgeous and don't need a lot of embellishments at all, that is why I just added the little leaf and the small sentiment, my friend loved the card.
Great masculine card, Maria! I love the field of flowers you created for your fox to rest in. The colors are so pretty and I love the Woodgrain embossing for the background!
