Retro Rubber Challenge Footbal card.....

Hello everyone: With 5 grandkids doing all kinds of activities, I'm making cards for them not only for their birthdays and Holidays but for all other occasions and to congratulate them for their sports and music endeavors. I made THIS card for my almost 11 year old granddaughter to congratulate her for being accepted to be part of the 5th. and 6th. grade Orchestra in her elementary School, she plays the Viola.
As I told you before, I've been making cards for my grandkids for many years but I really never took any pictures of them, back then, I never thought I was going to have a Pinterest account, let alone a blog but now, I have both, which is amazing to me. So one day I decided to borrow the kid's cards so I can take pictures and also, to share them with you here.
I made this card for my grandson Gabriel 3 years ago for his birthday and to celebrate a great season with his Green Hornets football team, the uniforms were, well.....green and his number was 32.  As he is growing up, it's getting a bit more difficult to make any type of card for him so, no more cute little critters or trucks and trains, he is going to be 15 in September so, I'm still wracking my brain to come up with a suitable card for this beautiful young man.
I'm participating in the Retro Rubber Challenge "By the Numbers", your card has to have numbers in it so I thought this would be perfect for it.  The football shirts were cut from a die that makes baby Onesies, I just cut the bottom part where the "snaps" are and it looks great, I was giggling when I finished this card, he really got a big kick out of it.
The numbers and the words were hand written by me with a gold pen and the "It's Your Day" sentiment in the corner and the football are stickers.  The Birthday sentiment is from an old Flourishes stamp and the banner is from Spellbinders.
So I hope you like this card, it was fairly simple to make and the best part is that he loved it.
Please leave me your comments, I love reading them.  Have a question?.....I'm here to answer it.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, till next time, keep on stamping.
Maria.

LOL!! Patti, if you could have seen his face when he opened that card in front of his friends at that party.....I bet you anything he thought I made him a card with a cute bunny or something like that, and he was going to be embarrassed, but his face just lit up and all I heard were ooooh and aaaah from his friends and he looked at me and said, "Thank you, grandma" with a big sigh or relief.

Sonny, this card was a big hit with his team mates too, but the best part was the priceless look on his face.

Maria! What a lovely blog post and how wonderful that your grandkids are so adored and I am sure they ADORE their grandma!! The card is so cute and what a wonderful reaction from your grandson! I saved as many birthday cards as I could from my grandparents and cherish them - and they weren't even handmade. So I can only imagine how your grandkids cherish your cards! Beautifully done and thank you for playing along with Retro Rubber!!

Hello Katy: Yes, seeing this card again took me back to that awesome season for this kids, the final game, which they call the Super Bowl was more exciting for all of us parents and grandparents on both sides than watching the real Super Bowl, it was thrilling.

Jane, when I asked the kids if I could borrow their cards I was amazed they had kept ALL of them, it was so sweet when I saw this cards from many years ago. I know for a fact they display the more recent card in their bedrooms but they keep all the other ones in a box in their closets. When I told them I was surprised they still had all of them, they just said: "of course we keep them, grandma.....".
Love this kids.
Thank you for visiting.
