I stamped this beautiful Chickadee and Holy image from the (sadly) retired Stampin Up! set called "Beautiful Season" onto Canson water color paper and colored it with my aqua painter and SU markers in Garden Green, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron, Basic Gray and Basic Black. I sponged around the image with a little bit of Tim Holtz ''Broken China''. The framing of this image was a little tricky, I don't have any plain square dies so, once I finish coloring it, I cut a dark brown piece of card stock 1/16" larger to create a little border. Then, I measured this panels and drew around them onto a piece of pattern paper cutting with my exacto knife again 1/16" larger so the Cherry Cobbler card base can peek through, I wanted to create a ''mat'', just like at the framing stores. The patter paper then is cut leaving a 3/8" frame. I heat embossed the sentiment from the beautiful Power Poppy Poinsettia stamp set in gold. I was going to leave it like that but I felt it needed a little something so I die cut the corners with some gold paper scraps and the Cherry Lynn Lace Corner Deco B dies .
Here is a close up of the golden sentiment and the other 2 corners, I think this die cut really add a bit of elegance to this hand made frame.

Chickadee's for Christmas! So sweet! Look at all the shopping you've been doing Ranger Distress inks! You've been holding out on us!
LOL!! Not at all, my friend, this pads of Distress Inks (I have one more in Peeled Paint) are very old but I don't use them as much so that is why they are still ok. Love this Chickadee, it's so beautiful perched on that Holly.
LOVE THIS CARD ! I love Chickadees and I love Broken China ! I think the Ranger colors are so pretty ,but they are true Distress type inks . I have a bunch and mostly the small pads .
You did a super job with this challenge and I think you might just be the WINNER this time !!
Beautiful and golden and very merry . Yes, I would say it is a winner - and the one who get`s it is a winner too !
That's a beautiful card with great coloring. I love that image too. I wish Stampin' Up didn't retire so many of their stamps so quickly.
Thank you Anita, this stamp set is just so beautiful, to sad it's retired, the new generations of stampers are missing out big time!!!
I totally agree with you ALWAYSSTAMPING, it's really sad that SU gets rid of beautiful sets like this, like I was telling my friend Anita, new stampers are missing out on playing with this lovely images.
