I have this cross stitch book to make Clip Book Marks and I made this one with it, easy to follow directions, this projects really can be done fast, although it took me a good part of last week to finish it due to having my grandkids spending time with us, and with this super hot weather, we literally have been living at the club house pool. 3 of them went home Thursday but they came back Saturday and they are still here, camping out in our living room. But we love it, hubby and I wouldn't have it any other way.
So back to this card.....the pattern paper is from Lili of the Valley and the sentiment and stamped needle and thread are from this stamp set I've had for years and years but don't know where it came from, I so wish I would have saved the box and label when I got it but, back then, I didn't think I would ever need that information, so sorry.
Here is a picture of the finished inside of my card.
The sentiment is from a retired Flourishes set called "Hummingbirds".
I hope you like this card, I really enjoyed sitting down and cross stitching this little project, I think I will make some more of this cute little book marks, I think they will make great gifts.

Maria, Thank you for sharing your card. I also cross stitch and make cards, but rarely mix them. I took up cardmaking to have a quicker result for my efforts. You did a wonderful job trimming the stitching!

Thank you Jean, I did have a period where all I did was cross stitch, when my grandchildren were little, I was knitting and crocheting, now it's card making. This is the first time I mix both of this wonderful hobbies and I'm glad I did, it felt good to embroider again.
I washed this little project first, just a little bit then, I dried it and ironed it then trimmed it, somehow, the fabric get a bit stiff and that is how I was able to trim it, as you probably know, this type of canvas frays easily.

Those kids are a hoot, grandpa and I love to be able to be in their lives as much as we are, they keep us on our toes.
Maria, this is so cute! Great idea to use mini-projects for cards-- maybe we'll see more of these from you! I also tossed a lot of the old packaging from supplies, thinking I'd never need them. Now I feel bad when I use a product and can't give the designer/company a shout-out!
Thank you Mimi, this "3D" projects are fun to make too, they might take a bit longer, specially with a house full of kiddos but the results are great.
I'm with you, I regret not saving the packaging for all of the stuff I bought years ago but Google is a good source of information about them and Pinterest is a great way to find out more or less the age of the stamps, I find cards made with some of my images and, when I go check the person's blog, I see the date.

A former cross stitcher too. I made hundreds of Christmas ornaments for gifts. Also made some pretty pictures I've framed. Guess I tired of it. Haven't done in many years. Your card is twice as precious. Besides getting a handmade card you also get a beautifully stitched piece. What a brilliant idea to combine the two. LOVE IT

Thank you Aileen, I haven't done cross stitch in a long while and now, after doing this little project, I realized how much I truly missed it.
Our grandkids are just a joy to have around, I feel so fortunate to live so close to them, 2 just next door, the other 3 about 15 min. away.
