Hello everyone: My teammates and I over at RETRO RUBBER, have a new and easy challenge for you this time around, we want to see Birthday cards, for kids and kids at heart 😉. I think Birthday cards are always in high demand so it's good to have some already made in your stash. Those of you who know me well, know I love mice. The real ones are adorable, although I don't think I would like to have them running around in my house, LOL!! but there are a few rubber stamp companies that have adorable little images of mice and one of my favorite is Lili of the Valley, my card was made with one of them.
This stamp line has been discontinued from Lili of the Valley, I had this stamp for 3 years along with the other 4 I bought when they had a sale. It's so sad when images like this one are no longer available, I'm sure glad I got them.
Aren't this little guys just so adorable? This image is easy to color, I did it with my Prismacolor pencils and paper stumps dipped in baby oil, added some gold gel pen to some of the bows and ribbons and a few Rhine Stones for bling. The background panel was stamped with a stamp from Impression Obsession called "Background Swirls".

Here is a picture of the finished inside of my card.
The sentiment is from Penny Black and the little line of gifts from an old Flourishes border stamp that is at least 5 years old, colored with Prismacolor Pencils.
So now it's your turn to create a birthday card and join us in the gallery. Birthday cards are always good to have on hand so come aboard and play.

Wow what a terrific stamp! Love the scene here and the background is fabulous behind this colored panel! Purple is so happy too great choice for Birthday!
Awwww, so cute!
Hi Maria, I did not know you love mice so I have learned something new about you! I love your card, I love all the mice on your card and you did a great job at coloring them. I love how you finished the inside too.
Such sweet mice! Beautiful colouring in - the colours are so rich and smooth that I'd never have guessed you'd used coloured pencils. I didn't know about using the baby oil to blend them either - I must give it a try.
I love this stsmp Maria. Saw it somewhere else recently. I think you need to send me a stamped image or two for a swap, I think its so cute. All the little bits of colouring, just wonderful.
LOL, Maria... I did know that you love mice! And you have quite a stash of ADORABLE mice stamp sets. Love it when you use them... your coloring technique really shines on these type of stamps! I had always used baby oil (or gamsol) with my prismacolor pencils until I colored my pear that I blogged late last year. I learned that using a lot of color/wax helped it blend on its own. I will have to try that again just to make sure it was not a happy accident. If you try it, be sure to let me know if you like it also! Thanks for sharing your adorable mice scene, Maria!!
Love this cute card, Maria! Mice on cards are a whole lot cuter than the ones in your house! You are the best at making these cards and I would love to be a fly on the wall watching you color them. I bet it's a sight to behold! I will never get the hang of it but I sure do appreciate every single one of yours.
Adorable!! The perfect little snapshot of a very happy birthday party. All the coloring and details are delightful. pjs-projects.blogspot.com
Such a fun card, I love how all the mice are doing different things, like the naughty one wearing the bow - that would SO be me! As always your colouring makes me so happy. Clairex
Lovely little mice so ready to celebrate! I will have to remember to get out my prisma pencils and use the baby oil trick! Lovely job!
Maria! How fun is this card! The stamping is so wonderful and your coloring is amazing! The recipient will be so lucky!❤️
