Tulips are Red..........

Hello everyone: I hope you and your family are doing well, I know it's hard to stay indoors and observe all the guidelines that seem so restrictive, but we must remember it's for our own safety and well being and also, to help the amazing caregivers out there who are in the front lines caring for the sick, we help them by staying inside.

THE FLOWER CHALLENGE has a new one for you for the month of May and it's fun and, I think, easy to play with, MONOCHROME so you can choose any color for your images, white, black and cream are also allowed.
This is my card and I hope it inspires you to come and play along.

This is an image from an old Flourishes set called "Tulips for Friends", stamped with Versafine black ink, clear heat embossed it and colored with my still juicy Stampin' Up! Real Red and Basic Black markers. I added some Rhine Stones to the pitcher for a bit of bling.
Some twine for the bow, the sentiment is from the Tulips stamp set and was die cut with the Spellbinders "Hemstitch Squares", (nbus), pattern paper from stash.

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called "Sassy Succulents", the tulip from the "Tulips for Friends" set.

I hope you come and play along with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, remember to read our rules and to make Flowers the main focus on your cards.
Visit our blog to get more inspiration from the rest of the awesome DT.

Thank you for stopping by today.
Stay healthy, safe and keep on crafting.
Hugs.

No Squares, No Rectangles, ok?.....

Hello everyone: My teammates and I have a new challenge for you to play with over at THE FLOWER CHALLENGEgallery, this time the theme is "SHAPED CARDS", this means for you to use any other shape except RECTANGLES OR SQUARES.  Make it an oval, circle, triangle, heart, hexagon, etc. you get the picture. So here is my card to inspire you to come and play along.

This image is from a Flourishes set called "Tulips for Friends" it's retired, but now, Power Poppy has a new version of this same image in a Photopolymer stamp set called Loving Tulips.
I stamped this image on a die cut piece of Strathmore 140lb. watercolor paper with Versafine black ink and clear heat emboss it then, colored it with SU markers and an aqua painter.
The black lacy oval was cut with the Spellbinders die set called Oval Regalia, I cut two pieces with black card stock and glue the top part for a hinge, it worked better than I thought.

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The sentiment and the flowers in the bottle are from the Power Poppy set called Go Wild.

So I hope you feel inspired to join us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE gallery, and for more inspiration please check out the amazing projects of my teammates, go to their blogs to see how they created them and leave them some comment love.

CAS Tulip for SOS #311.....

Hello dear blogging friends: I love the CAS style of card making but sometimes I find it a bit difficult to leave a lot of empty space on my cards but, none the less, once in a while I venture into making this very elegant and, well.....simple cards to get used to the guidelines for CAS.
This week over at SHOPPING OUR STASH we want to see your interpretation of this style of card making, so I hope my card inspires you to join my teammates and me in our gallery.

I love SHOPPING MY STASH of very old and retired stamp sets, I have a ton of Flourishes sets that I absolutely love, this image is from one of those retired sets called "Tulips for Friends" that came out back in 2013. I stamped it onto a die cut piece of watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored it with some of my Sakura Koy watercolors. I always save the negative piece of die cuts, I have a nice stash of them in a box ready for when I need them.  I really wanted to color this Tulip and leave it alone but, as I was finishing adding some shadows to the petals, my aqua painter decided to jump off of my hand and it landed on the bottom left side of the flower making a big smear of paint on it.
I gasped!!!😨, my first impulse was to just start over but, I really loved the colors I got on this flower so, I decided to fix it somehow. I tried to remove the ink with a small brush and water but, all I achieved was to make the ink bleed so, what the heck!! I went around the whole image with my brush dipped in water and that was that!!
A small sentiment and a couple of Nuvo drops completed this card front.

Here is a picture of the finished inside of my card.

The sentiment is from another Flourishes set called "With Gratitude", the little tulips on the bottom, from "From the Garden", colored with Prismacolor pencils.
So I hope you give this challenge a try, go check out the SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge blog to see my teammates awesome creations.  And, for your 411, July 12th. is Simplicity Day, CHECK OUT THIS LINK to this blog and find out how you can simplify your life, there are some awesome quotes there that I've been implementing in my craft room.

Thank you for stopping by, I always read every single comment you so kindly leave on my posts, I want you to know I appreciate them more than words can express.
