Hello dear friends: Every time I post on this blog I pray and hope you and your families are doing well, I know it's hard to live in these times, with so much uncertainty about health and social issues but, we need to stick together by staying apart, we need to really listen and to the advice that doctors and scientist, who actually know what they are talking about, give us every day.
Please stay healthy, safe and take care of yourselves and each other.

The challenge over at RETRO RUBBER is all about buttons, everybody has some in their sewing kit so I hope you find some and come join my teammates and I in our gallery.
My sweet and amazing maternal grandmother tough me how to sew by first learning to sew buttons on a piece of fabric when I was about 8 or 9 years old.
I pricked my fingers several times but those memories of my grandma are just as sweet as the cakes and cookies she used to bake for us spoiled grandkids.
Here's my card, with sweet memories of my grammy.
The buttons are really old, they are from Stampin' Up!, the colored gems are brads that I put through the buttonholes. The little scissors are from THIS STAMP SET (Stampabilities 2012), I stamped them on white card stock and placed a piece of painters tape behind the image to be able to fussy cut them without tearing the paper, it's a bit tricky but I have really sharp, pointy scissors and lots of patience too, LOL!!
The spool is also stamped, fussy cut and then I wrapped some very thin yarn around and threaded a real needle to add to the design, I love how it looks.
The little flowers are from a 2012 Flourishes stamp set called "Stitched for You"
I found my inspiration for this card on Pinterest with this card by Leeanne Withby, just love the vintage look of it.

This is the INSIDE of the card.
The sentiment is from another very old sewing stamp set but this one, I really can't remember, I apologize. If any of you recognize the sentiment or the spool, please let me know. Thank you.
So I hope you come and join my teammates and I in the RETRO RUBBER gallery, remember to use stamps that are older than 1 year, and if you can, please let us know how old they are.
I'm playing along with the following challenges.
I picked Embossing, Die Cuts and Flowers.

No Pattern Paper.

Flowers and Texture.

My card was inspired by memories of my maternal grandma
teaching me to sew.

Thank you for visiting me today.
Stay healthy and safe.
Hugs.
Maria.
