The Little Artist for Freshly Made Sketches.....

Hello dear friends: This week's sketch for Freshly Made Sketches  by Karren Johnson, has a lot of nice open space to fill in as you please so, here is the card I made with it.

I used once again, a stamp from Stamping Bella called Abigail the Artist thinking of my 17 year old granddaughter who loves to paint with water colors, (sometimes I wonder where she got that from?)

I love this sweet image of a young artist creating. I'm so glad I got this stamp, I can't wait to give this card to her.

Here is a close up of her cute little face and her brushes.

I used my Prismacolor pencils and baby oil this time to color her, the only part I water color is her face and her arms.

I hope you like this card, it was fun and easy to make with this really awesome sketch.

Up Town Audrey for Fab Friday.....

Hello again everyone: I have a card for you today I made for Fab Friday using a stamp from Stamping Bella called Up Town Girl Audrey loves makeup  
Here is my card.

I love this Up Town Girls, they are so easy and so much fun to color. I don't know why but I just love Purple, it might mean something, who knows but, I think it's a fabulous color in all it's shades.

Very simple card, only 4 colors, SU Basic Black, Elegant Eggplant, Pink Pirouette and a little touch of my gold pen for her necklace, lipstick and purse and that's it. The sentiment was stamped in SU white craft ink with the Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The ribbon and gold brads are from my stash, the Vellum paper was a gift from my sweet granddaughter Vanessa and the golden flourish in the corner is a die from Spellbinders.

This is the sketch that inspired this card, I just changed the placement of the ribbon to the other side, I hope it's ok.

A Summer card for Mojo Monday.....

Hello again, everyone: Here I am again with another Summer card, this time I used the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, here is the card I made for it.

I combined two sets to make this card, an old and a new. The refreshing pitcher of lemonade is from a retired Flourishes set called "On the Porch" and the fun and colorful flip flops are from the sparkling new  Power Poppy "Best Day Ever" stamp set.

Here is a close up of this refreshing pitcher of lemonade from Flourishes.

And this awesome pair of flip flops from Power Poppy.

The pretty shell is from Panama City Beach, collected by my grandchildren on our amazing Spring Break vacations, this little shells bring back sweet memories of those beautiful days with our 5 grandkids.

So there you have it, a little bit of Summer before it's gone.

Retro Rubber Challenge Footbal card.....

Hello everyone: With 5 grandkids doing all kinds of activities, I'm making cards for them not only for their birthdays and Holidays but for all other occasions and to congratulate them for their sports and music endeavors. I made THIS card for my almost 11 year old granddaughter to congratulate her for being accepted to be part of the 5th. and 6th. grade Orchestra in her elementary School, she plays the Viola.
As I told you before, I've been making cards for my grandkids for many years but I really never took any pictures of them, back then, I never thought I was going to have a Pinterest account, let alone a blog but now, I have both, which is amazing to me. So one day I decided to borrow the kid's cards so I can take pictures and also, to share them with you here.
 I made this card for my grandson Gabriel 3 years ago for his birthday and to celebrate a great season with his Green Hornets football team, the uniforms were, well.....green and his number was 32.  As he is growing up, it's getting a bit more difficult to make any type of card for him so, no more cute little critters or trucks and trains, he is going to be 15 in September so, I'm still wracking my brain to come up with a suitable card for this beautiful young man.

I'm participating in the Retro Rubber Challenge "By the Numbers", your card has to have numbers in it so I thought this would be perfect for it.  The football shirts were cut from a die that makes baby Onesies, I just cut the bottom part where the "snaps" are and it looks great, I was giggling when I finished this card, he really got a big kick out of it.

The numbers and the words were hand written by me with a gold pen and the "It's Your Day" sentiment in the corner and the football are stickers.  The Birthday sentiment is from an old Flourishes stamp and the banner is from Spellbinders.

So I hope you like this card, it was fairly simple to make and the best part is that he loved it.

A Viola for Anastasia.....and CAS(e) this Sketch.....

Hello everyone: Today I have a card I made for my little almost 11 year old granddaughter Anastasia, who tried out and made the 5th. and 6th. grade Orchestra ensemble at her elementary school playing the Viola. The music programs at the Crown Point, IN. schools are amazing. Her 17 year old sister Vanessa, who is a Senior this year, started in 5th. grade, just like Anastasia and now, Vanessa is in both the Crown Point High School Symphony Orchestra, in which she is second chair Viola and in the Chamber Orchestra, in which she is first chair. Going to the concerts is absolutely thrilling for us, I love seeing this kids up there on stage, playing beautiful music, it always makes me so happy. Here is the card I made following the CAS(e) this Sketch challenge.

This challenge blog is all about CAS(e), (clean and simple) cards, I do struggle a little leaving so much empty space on a card but I think I did ok with this one.

I have this Viola stamp I got from I Brake for Stamps a while ago, the music score in the back is heat embossed in gold, as well as the sentiment and flourishes. 

I hope you like this card, it's as CAS as I can make it, I will give it my little Viola player tomorrow.

Ragged Angel for 2 challenges.....

Hello everyone: How is your Summer going? I hope you are enjoying the warm temperatures because they wont last, for us up here in the Northern states, the cold months outlast the warm.
But anyway, I'm participating in two challenges with this card, Merry Monday with a theme of Pastels and the Holiday/Winter theme challenge over at LiveLoveCards , which will run the entire month of August. Here is my card.

This little Ragged Angel  is from Penny Black, the expression on her sweet face is of pure bliss. I struggled a bit with the layout for this card, the image is 4x4 inches so it was going to take a good portion of the surface of my card base so, I decided to snip it out and just put a white panel as the background embossed with an old Sizzix embossing folder that looks like snow falling.

I colored this sweet little Angel with my SU markers and the Aqua Painter then, sprinkled some glitter on the bottom, I'm sorry it's not showing in this picture, maybe in this one you can see the sparkle at her feet. 

This picture was taken with the flash, the other one without.

Halloween in August????? for The Paper Players

Hello everyone: I've been seeing a lot of Christmas in July cards lately, I actually made THIS ONE  a few days ago, but I really wasn't thinking about Halloween yet, I mean, this is still August but, well.....October will be here very soon so, I kind of wanted to get you guys in gear for your Spooky card making season. This is the card I made for The Paper Players , this little fellow has a big dose of Spookyness on his paws for sure.

Most times, when I get a new set of stamps I stamp a few images to have at hand just in case I need them, it saves me a bit of time, usually the coloring is done fast, if it's not to involved, this little guy was colored quick with SU markers. The image is from Whipper Snapper Designs, I went to look for it but couldn't find it, I hope they didn't discontinue this stamp, I really don't like when they (who ever "they" are) get rid of awesome and endearing imagers like this one, spooky as it might be.

I didn't put any ribbon or twine or bling on this card, I figured the pretty die cut frame was fancy enough, and I didn't want to crowd the image with a sentiment either, I think you can tell this is a Halloween card.
