Twofer Challenge #8.....

Hello dear blogging friends: I've been participating in the fabulous TWOFER CHALLENGE from the very beginning and I'm loving it so much, it's a fun and truly challenging challenge, because it gives your creativity a good workout trying to come up with two totally different cards, for two totally different occasions using the same stamp or die.
So here are my cards for this challenge, hope you like them and also, hope they inspire you to play along with the fabulous Darnelle and the rest of the amazing Designer Team.

And here are the cards individually, I will explain each one so you can see how I made them.

For this card I used a Honey Comb embossing folder and some of the totally adorable image of the retired Stampin' Up! set called "Just Buzzing By" from the 2009 Spring Catalog, I just adore the sweet little bees and the rest of the images on the set. I stamped the little bee and the Honey Jar on a die cut piece of watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored it with SU markers, I sponged "Hello Honey" ink on the embossed panel, the sentiment is from the set.

***************************************************************

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

I sponged some Hello Honey ink with a Honeycomb stencil on the top, the sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called SHORT STACKS and the images are from the SU set.

*********************************************************************

Here is my Twofer card.

For this card, I die cut the circle with the same die from the first card but I embossed it with the Honeycomb embossing folder to make it look like a Soccer Ball, I painted the hexagons with a black marker. The paper is from my stash and the sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called AZALEA, I added a bit of bling to it with some Rhine Stones colored with a pink Sharpie.

********************************************************************

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

I also sponged the edges with the Honeycomb stencil with pink and black inks, the sentiment is from the Power Poppy set called SHORT STACKS.

So there you have it, my TWOFER cards, I hope you enjoy seeing them and decide to visit the TWOFER CARD CHALLENGE and give this fun challenge a try.

I'm entering this card to the following challenges.

What fun cards, Maria! You have used your circle prompt element in two completely different ways, both of them delightful! Your honey pot and bee are so sweet inside the circle, beautifully colored and grounded and the hexagon e/f makes a brilliant background! But your soccer ball stole the show for me! I am definitely stealing that idea with my hexagon e/f and circle die! Genius! The circle pp and those warm vibrant colors goes so well with the black and white ball and I love the encouraging sediment! Great job on the insides, too, and another ah-ha moment for me about adding just a bit of a stencil for a ton of impact on the inside! Thank you so much for continuing support and enthusiasm and for playing in Twofer challenge #8! Hugs, Darnell

With all our trips away I've been missing some of the few challenges generally play in, and this is one of them. You always do the most clever cards for the Twofer! Your soccer ball idea is brilliant! Such detail with those skinny lines between the hexagons. It makes a perfect soccer ball! I adore the bee and honey pot, too. You have such a fun collection of stamps and I love seeing them!

Talk about great minds! When I went to link up my twofer cards, I saw you were also inspired by honeycomb backgrounds and soccer balls. Great job!

Both of your cards are so delightful, Maria! It took me a moment to realize that the circle was your geometric element - that's how different they look! Such darling little bee images, and they look just perfect with your embossed and stenciled honeycomb! What a great way to make a soccer ball using that embossing folder and the background circles give it so much movement! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

Oh, Maria, I love these great cards! You are so creative with the hexagons. The SU stamp set was just before my time but sure wish I had seen it. Too cute!! Thank you so much for playing with my dies/punches challenge at Cardz 4 Galz and hope you will join us again soon.

So much fun, Maria ... both of them! Love that you have two sets of geometric shapes on each card ... the circle and the hexagons ... one so sweet with the little bee ... and one bold and full of impact with the football! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
