Hello dear blogging friends: Quilting is one of those crafts that truly amazes me, I've seen some incredibly gorgeous quilts at arts and crafts shows that take my breath away, they are beautifully detailed and the designs unbelievably complicated and totally gorgeous.
The SHOPPING OUR STASH has a challenge for you and the theme is QUILTING so here is my card, I think this is the closest I would ever come to the real thing, it took me a while to pick the papers and to line up the rows, sheeesh!! I can only imagine trying to sew the squares, not happening!!!

After all the squares were glued to the panel, I dry embossed it.
Well, all the pattern papers are from my stash, some are from Lili of the Valley others are from old paper pads, the cute little sewing items are from a stamp set from Stampabilities I found at the bargain bin of the craft store for $1.00 last November, when I go to the store, I always check the bargain section, you can really find awesome stuff there.
I wanted to use these images but I didn't want to stamp them directly on the "quilt" so I stamped them on drawing paper, (this is thinner than card stock and watercolor paper) and then I put some painters tape in the back to make it a bit more sturdy so I could fussy cut them, I also used an X-Acto knife to cut the hole in the scissors and the space on top of the sewing machine where the thread is.
The sentiment is from an old Flourishes set called "Stitched for You" that came out back in November of 2012.

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.
Both the sentiment and the little flower are from the Flourishes set.
I hope you guys can come out and play with us at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we can't wait to see what you create.

That has to be the most amazing fussy cutting ever, Maria! How could you resist this stamp set for $1? Fantastic bargain! You did a beautiful job piecing your quilt squares together, and any quilter would envy your color and pattern combo. You have me in awe!
