The Humble Violet.

Hello everyone: As always, I hope and pray you and your families are doing well, taking care of each other and still wearing your masks.

It's time for a new theme over at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, and this one is "Use Your Favorite Flower".  Well, I love all flowers but I do have some favorite ones, in this case, the sweet, humble Violet, with its little flowers and intense colors, is my favorite.

This is the INSIDE.

And this is what I used.

Flourishes "Sweet Violets" (2013)

Prismacolor pencils.

Ribbon from Stampin' Up! (retired)

Lace border from Martha Stewart.

So I this is all for now, my teammates and I at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE can't wait to see your beautiful creations in our gallery.

Stay healthy and safe.

  1. Maria, you've brought me back to all the lovely African Violets my Mom had - some were from her very own mom, who carried them with her from Canada when they emigrated here!
Your violets are so beautiful, and beautifully colored! This is another time when I love the leaves, as much as the flower!

  2. Beautiful coloring and lovely layout!

  3. Mary’s right! Wonderful classic layout for your vintage plant just wonderful!

  4. I think of the African Violet as the first flower so many of us try to grow when we first leave home. So many wonderful memories and I love the design, its beautiful xx Aileen

  5. Stunning card Maria. Love how you finished the inside of the card too.

  6. Gorgeous card Maria! I LOVE your beautiful violets ... amazing pencil colouring!! The scallop framing and embellishments are so pretty! xx

  7. Your violets are beautifully colored and framed with that pretty doily punched border and ribbon! I like how you did the inside too!

  8. This is one of the prettiest violet stamps, too, and you colored it beautifully. What a charming card, Maria!

  9. Sweet violets, sweeter than all the roses. These are so cute and beautifully colored Maria.

  10. Beautiful card Maria and the love these violets!
